Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor Book Review 2025/09/14

This book was a pleasure to read, and Rick Riordan took a new path of fighting the enemy. In most of Rick’s books, the main characters win every single time. But this time, they won only a tiny bit.

My favorite part was where Alex suddenly turned on her husband (actually not) and strangled him with her garrotte. It was a special one, made from Sif (Thor’s wife)’s hair. It was exciting and full of dopamine when she suddenly attacked, and it was amazing that it was at the perfect timing when I was anticipating the fight. I also found it interesting that Thor already knew where Loki would run off too, and I’m curious if his prediction will be correct. This book led to more fondness for Alex to Sam and Magnus, and the same back. It was also cool when Annabeth (who is related to Magnus) will soon introduce him to her boyfriend, Percy.

I also have a question. So Magnus is the son of Frey, and Annabeth is related to Magnus. But Annabeth is also the daughter of Athena. Does that mean Magnus and Annabeth have Greek and Norse blood in their veins? Then do the gods know each other, like Norse to Greek? Because other books mention Greek gods not liking the Roman versions of themselves. Lots of questions that I need answering!!!!

Rick, if you’re reading this (You probably won’t) please answer ASAP.

Thanks!
